A blog based on the book “Let’s Get Your Party Started”

• When did you last celebrate your life?

• In answering, did you think back to your most recent birthday party?

• Are you satisfied to celebrate once a year with cake and a bit of frivolity?

• Instead of a run-of–the-mill-one-day-superficial-nod on your birthdate, would you like to expand the party to each day of your life? 

If you are under age thirty, you might be unable or unwilling to imagine being middle-aged or elder-aged, and if you are over thirty, you might dread the passing years and not feel inclined to party.  If you take a fresh look at your perception of all phases of your life, you may gain back anywhere from one day to seventy plus years of enjoyment.

In this blog and the book, Let’s Get Your Party Started, on which this blog is based, I challenge you to consciously celebrate each day, every day with thoughtfulness and fun. Each post will present one of my ideas, questions, a specific action to consider or a recommendation based on another author’s ideas that you might value as you craft your one-of-kind-it’s-all-about-you party.  The blog posts will be titled consistent with some of the categories in the book such as:

Cool Beans – Interesting topics to consider.

Interviewee Comments – If readers answer the interview questions contained in the book on page 261 and give me permission, I will confidentially paraphrase and place the comment in the blog.

Guild of Elders – Potential remedies for strengthening the bonds between otherwise isolated age groups.

Earth Year – Thoughts on celebrating the earth on a daily basis rather than on a single “Earth Day” each year.

Martian Manual of Mirth – Things about we Earthlings that Martians might find amusing.

Lessons Learned from a Wide Variety of Sources – Life lessons learned from diverse or sometimes unlikely sources.

Bucket List – Ideas that run the gamut from fun, bold endeavors and living with reckless abandon to accomplishing those things most significant in your life.
